featuring a soulful "sad eye" Basset Hound (or Bloodhound). This piece is a classic example of 1950s/60s Japanese ceramic imports, complete with its original textured green straw hat lid.
​While modern collectors often use these as trinket jars, candy dishes, or vanity storage, this piece was originally designed as a covered ashtray. The inner rim features a "cigarette rests" (notches), allowing the hat to sit on top and hide ashes when not in use.
